A new handbook on crime prevention, to be reviewed in the next, November print issue of the magazine.
The Handbook of Crime Prevention and Community Safety is edited by Prof Nick Tilley of Nottingham Trent University. The problem oriented policing (POP) award named after him was featured in the October issue of the magazine.
The 700-plus-page book is priced £29.50 direct from the publisher. It provides an overview, the publishers report, of the main theories and perspectives informing crime prevention policy and practice, and includes chapters covering efforts to address a number of the main types of crime problem.
