John Genner, Managing Director of BQT Solutions Limited, reports the implementation of a solution for construction company, Leighton Contractors? on its Westpac building site in Sydney.
Every person on site has been issued a Smart Card ID with Photo, contractor name & ID. The security guard on site has a BQT miPALM (newly released mobile hand held smart card palm reader with GPRS included) to scan all employees cards as they enter and leave the site. The safety officers are also equipped with the BQT miPALM to read an employees record from the database. The BQT system increases site access security and reduces identity fraud through the validation technology. The site perimeter security guard will use the BQT miPALM to conduct access validation. This project is anticipated to be followed by many other projects, according to the makers, as it opens up an opportunity for the high-end of the security market. It also allows BQT to bring this new product to the world market through BQT’s international client base. This product is not just for the construction industry, the makers claim; it has applications for corporate clients, airports, and military.
