Council Control

by msecadm4921

Custom Consoles has completed a contract to supply security control room furniture for Folkestone Council.

The furniture forms the basis of a new 24/7 video facility designed to monitor personal safety and motor traffic in the south coast resort.

Commissioned by Nottingham-based CCTV technology specialist Central Security Systems, the Folkestone project includes a Custom Consoles Module-R desk, four M-Desks, 10 Ergotron adjustable computer display arms, four-open-style bookcases and four mobile pedestals. The Module-R desk is a 2.5 metre wide by 1 metre deep inline unit accommodating two operators. The M-Desks are 1.5 metre wide by 1 metre deep and are designed for use by a single-operator. All five desks are finished in matching oak-veneer with grey Melamine worksurfaces. Two Ergotron flat-screen monitor arms fitted with 19 inch LCD screens are mounted on each desk, allowing adjusting of viewing height and angle.

What they say

"We have used Custom Consoles furniture successfully in many installations," says Chris Lazzari, Engineering Manager at Central Security Systems. "The desks are attractively styled and built to last. They are comfortable for security monitoring staff to work at during long shifts. We also appreciated the fast delivery times made possible by combining components from Custom Consoles’ standard range of furniture modules."
