Desk Control

by msecadm4921

Knightsbridge Guarding has a new control room at its head offices in the City of London.

A main control desk, administration desk, scheduling desk and an aluminium-edged room-dividing security screen are from Custom Consoles. The screen and main control desk are engraved with the Knightsbridge logo.

What they say

Richard Breach, Senior Manager at Knightsbridge’s Operations and Communications Centre, says: “We were previously based in a much smaller area with built-in technical furniture that could not easily be moved to a new location. We wanted free-standing furniture that we could take with us if business continues to expand. We also needed a supplier who could match the new furniture in the future. Custom Consoles was recommended by our IT supplier, Vault-IT. I visited the factory and was greatly impressed by the range and quality of desks available and by the professionalism of the staff. The main control desk was made to our specified 3m width from the Module-R range, finished in maple and surfaced in hard-wearing dark Marmoleum. Our staff do 12-hour shifts on a 24/7 basis so it was important that the desk be comfortable to use. Of all the desks I had seen, this was by far the best. Price was extremely competitive and the service provided was second to none. We now recommend Custom Consoles to our own clients."

The control desk accommodates six 19 inch LCD monitors, each supported on an Ergotron mount allowing easy adjustment of screen position and angle. The matching administration and scheduling desks are from the Custom Consoles M-Desk range.

Custom Consoles says that its Module-R product range enables control-room desks to be produced to meet specific needs from a selection of high-quality pods, base sections, worktops, rear tops, end-panel modules and legs. The desk pods are available as single-bay sections with a choice of 3 U, 6 U or 8 U chassis capacity. Cabinet construction is in veneered MDF. Cable management ducts are integrated into all desk sections.

The M-Desk range is fully FIRA approved and incorporates extruded aluminium support pillars which deliver the twin benefits of light weight and high structural rigidity. M-Desk furniture incorporates cable management ducts as standard, with optional CPU holders and ergonomic LCD monitor arms as required. The range is augmented by a selection of matching pedestals and storage furniture. An optional retracting height adjuster is available which enables staff to avoid backache and RSI by varying their working posture.
