DVR Copying

by msecadm4921

CCTV manufacturer Tecton have developed BLU-RAY copying for the Darlex digital video recorder.

The Hampshire-based firm reports that this will enable days worth of footage to be copied on
one disk. A dual sided blu-ray disk (BD) has up to 50GB worth of storage, more than 10 times that of a normal DVD.

BDs are hard coated so there is less chance of evidence getting damaged as they are much less susceptible to scratching, according to the company. The firm adds that being able to copy huge amounts of footage to a single media, also lessens the need for carrying out long network downloads and the requirement to remove hard drives.
