Equinox Security reports the acquisition of £4.8m security company Crusader Security Services.

Crusader provides a range of services including guarding and mobile patrol and key holding to blue chip companies, Government departments and privately owned companies.

Its acquisition makes Equinox Security a £6m business with more than 200 employees operating at sites throughout the UK.

Steve Boyden, Group Managing Director for Equinox Security, said: "Like Equinox, Crusader has a strong commitment to providing the very highest quality of service and that means there is a strong cultural and operational fit for Crusader within the Equinox business."

Steve Boyden and Caroline Demoulpied have joined Bedford-based Equinox as Group Managing Director and Group Business Development Director respectively. Both have lately worked for Securiplan; both will be shareholders in the Bedford company.

Steve Boyden’s career began in the retail industry, in which he worked for more than 18 years. He moved into the security industry in 1989 and in 1992 formed Midas Retail Security Limited.

Caroline Demoulpied’s career spans some 19 years within a business to business service environment, specialising in the last 12 years within the security and soft services sectors. She joined the security industry in 1994. Formerly National Account Director for Pinkerton Security Services where she was responsible for multi-million pound blue chip contracts, Caroline joined Empire Security as a senior board director in 1999 and was instrumental in its expansion in both the corporate and retail markets.

Other directors are Group Special Projects and Events Director Keith Thomson; and Group Commercial Director Philip A Williams.
