IFSEC Record

by msecadm4921

IFSEC organisers have hailed the 2007 show’s record attendance.

The May 21 to 24 exhibition drew 32,368. IFSEC 2008 will run from May 12 to 15 at the NEC Birmingham.

James Blue, IFSEC Event Director, said: “To achieve visitor figures like this is phenomenal and truly reflective of the show’s global appeal. IFSEC has a strong, award-winning team behind it who, together with pro-active exhibitors and a first class educational programme have been able to provide the industry with an event that really addresses the pertinent issues.”

Opening the event on the Monday and attending IFSEC for the first time, Baroness Ruth Henig, Chair of the Security Industry Authority said: “I’ve learned enough since January to appreciate that IFSEC is an essential stage of my security education. There is general agreement that this is the world’s leading annual security event, covering 100,000 square metres, nine exhibition halls and over 1000 companies from over 40 countries.”

Among seminar sessions covering from counter terrorism strategy to command and control software, to IP cameras, the British Security Industry Association’s Olympics director David Evans (BSIA) and Andrew Amery on behalf of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) and Tarique Ghaffur, Assistant Commissioner for the Metropolitan Police discussed the Olympics.

IFSEC 2007 also included a number of new feature areas. The Police and Public Security feature; and the Physical Security area, catered specifically for those involved in perimeter protection, locking systems, safes and other physical security measures.

Feedback from the exhibitors at IFSEC 2007:

“In our opinion, IFSEC 2007 has been better than all previous years. We’ve had a bigger stand and a better location than last year, which has really paid dividends by providing better visitor flow and quality leads.”
Simon Nash, European Product Manager, Sony

“This year’s show has provided us with a great opportunity to showcase the services of MITIE Security and has given us the opportunity to develop relationships with both customers and prospects. A vital element in our marketing plan, IFSEC 2007 has proven to be a great event.”
Darren Gamage, Head of Marketing, MITIE Security

“We have been inundated with high quality response and we have already booked for IFSEC 2008. We have exhibited at CeBit and 3GSM before and we would put IFSEC in the same category as these, in terms of quality and quantity of visitors.”
Azam Butt, Marketing Manager, Romtrac Plc

“IFSEC 2007 provided a very good platform for JVC Professional Europe Ltd to launch its range of new network products to the international security community as well as meet with many existing and prospective customers. Staff from each of our European branches received many valuable sales leads.“
Yash Patel, Executive Director, CCTV Europe at JVC Professional Europe Ltd
