Intruder Addition

by msecadm4921

Distributor Norbain SD reports a partnership agreement with Europlex Technologies.

The firms say their aim is to encourage the more rapid adoption of integration in the security sector. This will see Europlex’s GS system product and CiTeC communications interface added to Norbain’s intruder detection portfolio.

What they say

"3GS is well established as one of the leading integrated solutions and Norbain believes that systems integration should not just be a benefit offered by a few specialist companies," says Dave Kelly, Norbain’s Divisional Director of Intruder Products. "It is another part of our business that we will be encouraging security installers to develop, and will establish Norbain as an even more complete systems provider."

The distributor says that a significant number of end users now expect a single system to be able to cope with all aspects of their security requirements. Integrated security systems deliver benefits to the end user, the firm adds, through the reduction of cabling and interoperability between the different security disciplines (such as security, access control and CCTV). The net result is quicker installation and greater reliability, it is claimed.

When installers use the 3GS system, they will be able to provide integrated intruder alarm (wired and wireless), access control, SMS messaging and secure network connectivity, according to the product firm, and link in standard video equipment from a range of DVR manufacturers. As a result installation engineers will no longer have to use a PC-based solution, or need to install hard-wired inputs and outputs, the manufacturers say. Europlex’s CiTeC device allows intruder alarm and access control systems to be linked to deliver a whole raft of new functions, it is claimed.

"The 3GS system is ideal for most installations and makes integration of multiple disciplines by the installer a reality as standard," says Simon Jerome of Europlex. "Norbain has recognised the market potential for its customers and will now be able to deliver the Europlex 3GS range to the market as a whole."
