The MobiLeT is a universal mobile LEGIC prime terminal utilising the standard PC Card (PCMCIA) Type 2 format.

Using the latest contactless smart card technology, it enables any existing LEGIC application to be adapted to provide ticketing, access control and time management or to be used as a cashless payment system with mobile cash registers, the makers report.

With MobiLeT the reader goes to the cardholder, opening up a range of potential mobile applications. The reader is specially designed to deliver flexibility without restrictions on any application. Due to its compact PCMCIA card size, the MobiLeT can be inserted into any device with a PCMCIA slot. Not only into Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), but also into laptop computers that can accommodate the card with an integrated MHz RFID reader. The card is also suitable for use as a cost-effective terminal for cashless payment applications. When inserted into a laptop computer, cards may be debited or cashed at the reception area, and in hospitality applications they can serve as a mobile payment terminal. Where ticketing is required; the card is read/write capable.
