Sport fans are being reminded to watch out for bogus ticket websites after five people were arrested in connection with a Beijing Olympic ticket scam. Double gold medallist Rebecca Adlingtonโs parents were among the victims.
The Serious Fraud Office made the arrests following an investigation into a company called Xclusive Tickets. As well as Beijing Olympic tickets, the company failed to deliver tickets to events including the Reading Festival and the V Festival. The Adlingtons paid more than ยฃ1,000 for tickets to the Beijing Olympic Games that never arrived.
Anyone who has paid money for tickets that did not arrive or that turned out to be counterfeit should report it to Action Fraud, say police.
