Online Recovery

by msecadm4921

Newly launched is an online civil recovery tool that means, it is claimed, retailers can save hours of paperwork by joining up the ‘discovery to recovery’ journey via the internet.

Loss prevention managers can now eliminate paperwork through tracking a fraud case from suspicion to prosecution and restitution, reducing the investigators administrative time, it is claimed.

The ORIS Group, the UK loss prevention consultancy, and specialist recoveries law firm Drydens have announced the linking of their web-based solutions for retailers seeking loss recovery.

Drydens, which established a dedicated civil recovery team more than two years ago, already represents retailers Marks and Spencer, Asda and Sainsburys, amongst others. Homebase and Carphone Warehouse are the first two joint ORIS/Drydens clients expected to use the web link.

"The on-line Case Manager tool from ORIS simply uploads the required information to our own web-based civil recovery service, removing the need for Loss Prevention Managers to re-enter any case or offender details," says Mark Broadley, Head of Loss Recovery at Drydens.

"Our clients already benefit from an online paperless service which provides real time tracking of individual cases. The ORIS link is an important development for us as it makes the whole instruction process smoother by removing the need for manual intervention which in turn drives cost efficiencies and speeds up the turnaround time to collection. "

Commetning John Tomlinson, profit protection analyst at Homebase, says: "It is automatic, straightforward and helps us better control costs as well as recover them. It gives extras power to our reporting ability because it tracks everything."

Andrew Wood, technical director and founder of the ORIS Group, says: "The recovery of monies is an important part of the loss prevention strategy and the new system will make it easier for clients to collect the money, which will in turn help improve their LP clear-up figures."

"Loss prevention teams can now accurately track fraud from discovery to recovery without duplicating lots of paperwork. Civil recovery is automatically put into place allowing investigators to continue chasing their next cases."
