Arecont Vision, the US manufacturer of IP-based megapixel cameras, unveiled an Advanced Channel Partner Certification at IFSEC 2011.
The company says the aim is to further educate security people on how to design video systems with megapixel video technology.
Jason Schimpf, Director of Partner Relations, Arecont Vision, said: “Our new Advanced Channel Partner Certification Program will help better prepare channel partners so they can maximize the cost benefits and added functionality of megapixel video.”
Included is training on designing and installing megapixel cameras; how the company’s exposure/shutter controls work in varying light conditions, how lighting and illumination affect megapixel cameras, and how to maximise H.264 bandwidth savings. Topics include pixel density (pixels on target), field-of-view, optics (what to look for and why), sensors (and how they affect video quality, low-light performance and field-of-view) and best practices for providing power to megapixel cameras.
The first two sessions will be held May 10-11 and June 14-15 at Arecont Vision’s headquarters in Glendale, California.
Another topic: the impact of choosing megapixel cameras on network components such as routers, switches and network infrastructure (fiber, coax and wireless); and how various video management system (VMS) platforms operate with megapixel technology; how to properly calculate storage requirements and choose the appropriate storage type for a megapixel system.
Breakout sessions will provide students hands-on opportunities to implement projects related to session topics, thus ensuring that students fully understand how to design and specify a full megapixel system. For more information –
