Excelerate Technology, supplier of satellite and wireless-based data, voice and video solutions, reported interest from all the emergency services throughout the recent BAPCO exhibition.
The company was using the exhibition to unveil the range of communication technologies that will be deployed after winning a major contract to equip a new generation of Mobile Incident Response Vehicles (MIRV). This contract forms part of a national multi million pound framework agreement, Europeโs largest, which was awarded by the NHS for the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) initiative.
Fire and Rescue
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue provided delegates with an opportunity to see Excelerate Technologyโs solutions in its new Incident Command Unit which was parked outside the exhibition hall.
According to Olaf Baars, Deputy Chief Fire Officer at Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue: โWe are delighted to take delivery of our new Incident Command Unit, which will provide seamless voice and data communications with HQ and interoperability with other blue light services. The finished vehicle has exceeded our initial project expectations and will serve us well for the next fifteen years.โ
At the exhibition, Excelerate also announced the award of a major contract to equip the first four of a new fleet of Command and Control vehicles for the Garda, Irelandโs national police service.
