Ribbon Launch

Stanley Convergent Security Solutions (Stanley CSS), part of Stanley Black & Decker, officially opened its first European ProtectionNet Customer Service Centre in the UK. A ribbon was cut on Tuesday, November 2.

The ProtectionNet centre, a data and monitoring central station, has capacity to monitor over 50,000 customers across the UK.  Monitoring services include Enhanced Call Verification, traditional intrusion, the Sonitrol Audio Verification and Video Verification monitoring, plus Fire Alarm monitoring and managed access control services.  A Class II Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), it’s made and staffed to comply with BS5979: with attack resistant steel shell, continuous alarm and CCTV monitoring inside and out, hourly counter duress activity, recording of all inbound and outbound calls and entry/exit by airlock. Monitoring workstations each have the capacity to monitor 2000 sites.  These are staffed 24/7, 365 days a year, by staff who passed a four week specialist training course in all procedures relating to ARC operations.

The launch event also marked the awarding of SSAIB certification. Alistair Compton, Stanley CSS’s UK Regional Vice President said: “Both Stanley staff and contractors have worked exceptionally hard as a team to reach this stage. This is the very first ProtectionNet Centre for Stanley in Europe and we are delighted to have received SSAIB certification. The Centre will allow us to extend the reach of our services and, with SSAIB certification in place, deliver greater peace of mind for all of our customers.”
