The Fire Protection Association is to introduce a security and fire risk survey service
The Fire Protection Association is to introduce a security and fire risk survey service, aimed primarily at the insurance and broker market. The move follows an increase in risk management activity since September 11 and a hardening of the market generally, which has put the finite resources of insurers? in-house risk management teams under pressure, the FPA says. The association adds that the resultant delays and backlogs are damaging insurers? accounts; worse still, cases requiring inspection are going unvisited.
Backed by FPA access to technical data and support, the service will allow insurers to tap a resource offering confidence, whether the service is used as an organisation?s primary response, or to supplement a team, the association says. Insurance market surveyors are being assembled.
