Criminal brain talk

by Mark Rowe

Are criminal brains different to ours? What causes these brain differences? And what does this mean for society in terms of predicting, preventing, and punishing criminal behavior?

These were among the ‘difficult’ questions posed by Adrian Raine, Professor of Criminology, Psychiatry, and Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, who studies the biological basis of criminal behavior. He gave a lecture on on ‘The criminal brain: Implications for prevention, protection and punishment’ on Thursday, October 6 at the University of York.
