Hacking Tales

by Mark Rowe

IT security sector people have together written a book of Hacking Tales. Published as an ebook, and available as a free download, the short stories cover a multitude of security incidents – including hacking, privacy and deception.

Yvonne Eskenzi, contributor to the Hacker Tales said: “We’ve heard so many amazing stories over the years from our hacker friends and clients it would make your hair stand on end. We love scaring our friends and family over dinner with these stories but I’ve always thought they’d make a great little book – and now they have. The hacker tales, ideal for bed time reading if you’re not of a sensitive disposition, has been contributed to by Eskenzi PRs staff, clients and industry colleagues. The idea is to make you sit up and think twice about your own security practices and to spread the word about better IT security housekeeping! Most are fictitious, all of them are very clever, some have happened and others could still happen. This book will be ongoing so if you fancy adding a chapter for the next edition we’d love to hear from you.”

The book is dedicated to the late Steve Gold, a veteran of the IT security industry. The book has been sponsored by Tripwire and PhishMe, with all proceeds donated to the NSPCC. To download a copy, visit: https://www.securityserious.com/HackerTales.aspx.
