Lone worker conference

The Olympia conference centre at Kensington in west London is again the venue for the annual lone worker safety expo. Among the speakers on Tuesday, November 25 are trainer Bill Fox of Maybo; Chris Allcard – Head of Lone Worker Services of monitoring company Reliance High-Tech Limited; and Patrick Dealtry, Director of The Lone Working Group Ltd and writer of the British Standard for lone worker services management, and the chairman of the BSIA Lone Worker Section. Organiser and chairman for the day is Robert Kaiser.

The conference topics include the employer’s health and safety at work responsibilities; assessment and documenting of risk; and how to get buy-in and embedding the policies and procedures and assessing their effectiveness in the real world. Rounding off the day, Doug Melia – Director of Defend UK will cover the legal concept of ‘reasonable force’ according to case, criminal and European Law; managing the risk of physical violence and aggression; training staff in edged weapon awareness and dealing with extreme situations.
