Tiger Scheme

by Mark Rowe

A cyber security accreditation, The Tiger Scheme, is being managed by University of South Wales Commercial Services Ltd, the commercial arm of the uni. Endorsed by the National Technical Authority for Information Assurance (CESG) and backed by a university-based assessment, the scheme is for those seeking career progression within technical security. Chris Meehan, President and Director of Tiger Scheme Ltd, says: “Effective cyber security is an essential component of protecting and supporting economic growth. The industry itself is a significant component of the UK economy – the level of expertise available in the UK is recognised worldwide.

“Migrating Tiger Scheme operations to our partners, the University of South Wales will provide the level of integration and coordination necessary for a world class industry. It is imperative that the scheme continues to meet the evolving requirements of our members and their customers. This move will strengthen our ability to ensure the career progression of our members through entry level certification, intermediate level certification, and senior and technical specialist roles.”

From July, the university will also be offering the Team Member (QSTM) qualification at their London Centre as well as continuing to run the Team Leader (SST) qualification from their campus in Pontypridd. Visit http://www.tigerscheme.org.
