Antrica, a supplier of H.264 video encoding and streaming products, is launching a 4k CCTV camera decoder box at ST17 Midlands, the first Security TWENTY event by Professional Security magazine of 2017.
The ‘SpotBox4K’ is a new product from Antrica, designed the firm says to be an add-on device to a CCTV system. It will be showcased in the UK for the first time at the company’s stand at the ST17 Midlands conference and exhibition at the East Midlands Conference Centre (entrance pictured) on the University of Nottingham campus, on Thursday, February 9. The ‘box’ is designed to be a IP camera viewing station, and connects into the back of a monitor via a HDMI cable without the need for a PC. This product is supplied with a TV style remote control, meaning even the most non-technical person can use it, the company says. It has an auto-reboot feature which kicks in after a power cut.
You can programme up to 16 IP ONVIF cameras, which you can then view in quad mode in full 1920 x 1080 resolution without loss in picture quality, on a 4K monitor. Other viewing options are available allowing you to view in multiples up to 4 x 4 (with reduced resolution).
As for image resolution, the box is cable of decoding streams in SD, HD, 4K and UHD. More features will be released soon, ONVIF discovery, on board USB recording, with 4K decode and viewing 1 x 1 , 2 x 2 , 3 x 3 and 4 x 4 IP cameras.
Les Litwin, Director of Antrica says: “The purpose of this product is to offer an alternative or add on to an NVR or VMS solution, as in some cases these solutions can be excessive, as viewing may be all that is required (eg. reception desks or security viewing stations). Cost-wise it also works out cheaper than going down the standard PC set-up route, with the benefits of being much more simple to operate.”
Antrica add that they are in pursuit of distribution companies to partner with, to assist in the distribution of this product and other video over IP solutions.
