by Mark Rowe

Among the exhibitors at the ISE 2018 show for audio-visual products from February 6 to 9, at RAI, Amsterdam, is the UK communications product company Baldwin Boxall. Its Dutch distributor has a stand 3-C110. Baldwin Boxall will be demonstrating the new Eclipse4 (stand alone PA/VA) and touch screen microphone.

Using the touch screen microphone, visitors will be able to record and play back messages, route background music, play stored emergency and standard messages, and log in with NFC card. Baldwin Boxall recently announced the EN54 certification of the microphone.

Visitors interested in emergency voice communication system (namely disabled refuge, fire telephone, disabled toilet alarms) will be able to view samples of outstations from the Omnicare range.

The new VIGIL Eclipse4 uses Baldwin Boxall’s latest transformerless voice alarm amplifiers. In common with its predecessors, the VIGIL Eclipse4 is a wall mountable, stand-alone voice alarm/public address system.

The Eclipse4 uses EVAS routeing technology and has the ability to include up to four of the company’s new VIGIL3 amplifier modules (totalling up to 2,400 Watts). It offer a shallow profile, modular nature and networking. As with all Baldwin Boxall voice alarm systems, VIGIL Eclipse4 will connect to any leading fire panel via the internal fire alarm interface.

The EN54 touch screen control microphone is a multi-function user interface for VIGIL voice alarm systems and is used via the touch sensitive control screen.

This new microphone features NFC smart card or pin code access and the ability to connect a third party music audio feed for broadcast to user selected areas. Other user features include zonal volume adjustment of non-critical broadcasts, ability to record, store and playback messages, and configurable buttons. The new microphone is compatible with established VIGIL2 systems, providing the ability to swap out current microphones.
