Beckham shop support

by Mark Rowe

Lodge Service donated guarding and crowd control support at a British Red Cross shop in London when designer outfits given by Victoria and David Beckham went on sale on Friday, November 22, to support the charity’s ‘Shop Drop for the Philippines’. The collection from the celebrity couple’s wardrobe included dresses, tops, suits and shoes from labels including Dolce & Gabbana, Jimmy Choo, and Roberto Cavalli, with the money raised going to help those affected by the recent typhoon in the Philippines.

Fans of the Beckhams and supporters of the Red Cross appeal visited the Kensington and Chelsea Red Cross shop, which specialises in designer clothing, at 69-71 Old Church Street, in west London, pictured, with extended opening hours on the day. Stuart Lodge, CEO of Lodge Service says: “We were delighted to donate our security expertise to the British Red Cross for this excellent initiative. Lodge Service has worked closely with the charity for a decade. We recently completed a new three-year agreement to provide ‘mystery shoppers’ and security audits and training to protect the charity’s network of 330 shops.”

North London-based Lodge Service’s mystery shoppers visit the British Red Cross shops regularly, to provide feedback on staff compliance with service standards; to detect any security issues at point of sale; and ensure payment is received and processed correctly. The contract security company also supports the charity’s internal audit by carrying out regular checks in nominated shops to assess procedural compliance in operationally critical areas. These include store administration and cash control, as well as compliance with physical and personal security standards and health and safety provisions.
