Connexion2 acquired

The UK lone worker product firm Connexion2 has been acquired by the American emergency communications company, Kings III.

According to the firms, the acquisition will allow the business to increase the scale of its lone worker solution offering in North America and Europe.

Connexion2 was launched in 2003, backed by investors including South Yorkshire Investment Fund, and manufacture the Identicom lone worker device. There are now over 110,000 devices in circulation, in the NHS and elsewhere; offering 24/7 support, verbal abuse capture, man-down detection, SiRF IV GPS and a camera.

Kings III was founded in 1989 and provides a products for use in elevators, at poolside, in garages, car parks, cash machines and arenas. Kings III has an Emergency Dispatch Centre.

Connexion2 will retain its trading name and its SoloProtect brand-presence in the UK. The companies say that Kings IIIโ€™s acquisition will help facilitate the further development of a number of European and Asian markets. Kings III will supplement its substantial core business offering in the US with a new North American Division of SoloProtect, formerly branded discreetSOS prior to the acquisition, featuring Kings III Emergency Dispatch Centre Monitoring.
