Intranet for partnerships

by Mark Rowe

Littoralis has unveiled the latest version of its BCRP Intranet product to users. BCRP Intranet is in use in around 60 BCRPs (Business Crime Reduction Partnerships) throughout the UK and the new version will be adopted by existing users over the next few months. The new version, which has been three years in development, will be launched to new users next month.

Littoralis director Dave Platten said after an online webinar last month: “Without exception they all want to migrate as soon as they can. We have started our first migration already and we expect to complete all migrations within the next two months.” Littoralis has produced an online video for existing customers showing some of the features of the new system, which can be seen at www.littoralis.com/users/intro.html

The new version has been completely re-written, says Dave Platten. “We’ve been listening carefully to what our customers have told us over the last few years and now we have delivered. The new system is much faster, more robust and much easier to use. So it’s easier for administrators to learn too. The new system is an all-in package – you get everything – yet we are also bringing the cost down. We’ll be announcing prices when we launch the new system ‘officially’ in March. There are lots of new features: for example the system is 100% configurable by the BCRP administrator so each implementation can work precisely the way each partnership works; there’s a completely automated expiry management system. And administrators can have as many mugshot galleries as they wish. It’s very easy to set up.
“There are many more new features on the new version but two are especially significant. With the new system a single administrator can now manage multipe intranets, and that means multiple partnerships, all from the same online ‘admin centre’. And administrators using BCRP Intranet can now access ‘data views’ which allow them to view consolidated offender and incident data across any combination of participating partnerships – for example across a county or constabulary, or across a region, or along a motorway where travelling offenders may habitually ply their trade, or, indeed, even nationally.”

After its launch in March Littoralis will be scheduling online webinars to showcase the system to partnerships who are not already users of BCRP Intranet.
