New collection at CT Expo

by Mark Rowe

Townscape Products Limited, is launching a new collection for its PAS 68 hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) CT Blocks at this month’s Counter Terror Expo 2015 in west London. The new range will be showcased at the Expo, on Townscape’s stand M81, on April 21 and 22, 2015 at Olympia.

The CT Collections range is a new cladding selection of natural materials designed to give Townscape’s traditional CT Block a finish of the highest standard, according to the makers. Jonathan Goss, managing director of Townscape Products, said: “We know the last thing a property owner wants is to turn their property into a fortress. Our CT Blocks have always been designed to enable facilities managers to protect their people and property discreetly and sympathetically to the local environment.

“We’ve listened to the needs of our customers and created the CT Collections range to give a superior finish to our security system which will complement the design of a building, provide a high degree of functionality, whilst still being a strong deterrent to vehicle-borne attacks.”

The range is available as full ‘on block’ cladding, planter ‘surround’ cladding or bespoke CT Block seating. Elements can also be added to distinguish each block, such as LED lighting and signage. The range of natural materials includes; Granite, Quartz and Dekton. Goss added: “As the hardest structural stone, natural granite makes an ideal material for integration into the city scape. Its stylish patterns, finishes and colours which we offer in over 50 variants, make it a highly versatile and popular external building material. Dekton® is a blend of the raw materials used to produce the very latest innovation in glass and porcelain, as well as the highest quality quartz surfaces, giving durability and scratch resistance. Its robustness and strength, combined with a tolerance of both low and high external temperatures, make it the perfect accompaniment to our external spaces.”

CT Blocks are made at Townscape’s Sutton-in-Ashfield factory, each weigh in at 2.2 tonnes and are made using a mix of aggregates. The CT Blocks only require minimal groundwork it is claimed due to their low profile foundation. The blocks are positioned where a building is vulnerable to vehicular incursion and meet the PAS 68 standard for vehicle immobilisation.

Townscape’s integrated HVM range, which included blocks, bollards, barriers and planters has been designed to give an aesthetically pleasing solution, fitting into the landscape surroundings.
