NHS Lone Worker Framework

by Mark Rowe

Skyguard, the personal safety service, has been selected as an approved supplier on the NHS’s 2018 Lone Worker Framework Agreement. After an OJEU tender process on behalf of NHS Business Services Authority, Skyguard has been awarded the NHS Supply Chain’s Lone Worker Framework, launching on September 1. The agreement which runs for two years with a two year extension, allows any NHS Trust to procure Skyguard’s range of lone worker devices and apps. Coinciding, Skyguard will be launching its new ‘MicroSOS’ device – which the company describes as its most discreet and feature-rich to date.

Certified to industry standards and the Department of Health’s Information Governance Toolkit, Skyguard is already a supplier of lone worker alarms to the NHS. The firm’s products are used by over 150 NHS trusts including flagship sites such as Great Ormond Street Hospital, Guy’s and St.Thomas’, and University College London.

Skyguard Chief Executive, James Murray said: “We’re delighted to be awarded the new NHS’s Lone Worker Framework which will provide Trusts with a simple means of procuring our latest devices, whilst saving them money at a time when budgets are under increasing pressure. We’re already safeguarding tens of thousands of NHS staff every day and this Agreement reaffirms our commitment to the largest employer of lone workers in the UK.”
