Prevention officers meet

Brighton is the venue for the tenth annual Institute Of Money Laundering Prevention Officers (IMLPO) conference on May 13 and 14.

On the Monday night there’s a dinner and a casino courtesy of Rank, an IMLPO member. Speakers invited include Sussex University Prof Dan Hough, director of Sussex Centre for the Study of Corruption; and John Aspden, Chief Executive of the Financial Supervision Commission, covering regulation on the Isle of Man. The chairman is Tina Blocksidge, of Lloyds Banking Group; the deputy chairman is Richard Smolicz, group head of financial crime prevention at Prudential plc; and the IMPLO committee includes William Price, the former Met Police man now head of anti-money laundering at Ladbrokes; and Anita Bourchier, head of regulatory change and policy – group financial crime, at Legal & General.
