The Capital Shopping Centres Group (CSC) is a UK specialist shopping centre owner and manager. To operate security over sites, CSC installed the integration software platform V-TAS around five years ago. The incident reporting system from i-comply finds trends within the centre such as โslip and tripsโ, retail theft hot spots and anti-social behaviour. CSC wanted its 14 shopping centres to have a secure key management tool. Three years ago, CSC installed icomplyโs Mobile Asset Control system for control of keys, using a database to verify and review access to mobile assets and keys. A component of the mobile asset control system is contractor site access control, which allows the centre client to know who is on site, where they are positioned, how long it will be for, and what work they are carrying out. The asset control system also verifies CSCโs insurance liability cover. Any overdue keys present an alarm to the operator, who can then deal with the alert.
icomply says that its Mobile Asset Control system simplifies operations and can be used for a range of assets, such as radios or vehicles. A user can track and monitor items that need to be reviewed yearly for administration or health and safety purposes, such as fire extinguishers. CSC covers 16 million square ft of retail space which is valued around ยฃ7 billion. Notable CSC sites include the Trafford Centre, Manchester; and Lakeside, Thurrock.
