A contract to provide security services for the ports of Plymouth and Southampton by Associated British Ports (ABP) has gone to Profile Security Services. Profile reports that ABP is an existing customer. The four year deal agreed recently will transfer from the portsโ security supplier, G4S, whose staff will also transfer to Profile on January 1, 2014. Profile says that its new contract includes cover for an associated freight terminal at Hams Hall, Birmingham also run by ABP, Britainโs largest port operator.
Lincolnshire-based Profile Managing Director Martin McGowan-Scanlon said: โThis is a substantial contract which reflects the high quality service provided by Profile as well as a competitive pricing structure and a flexible approach to customer needs. It also further cements our position as the leading independent security company within the security industry. It is a significant win and adds to our other recent successes in the area of Critical National Infrastructure.โ
Profile adds that it has committed to opening an office in Southampton. This will add to the companyโs ten regional offices around the UK. Profile already manages port security at other ports: Ramsgate, Goole, Leith and Hull. Profile will also start operations at Ipswich early in 2014.
