Collinson Group has appointed Saugata Basu as Chief Underwriting Officer. Saugata, pictured, will work with the Group’s providers on an underwriting framework the firm says. He will drive underwriting discipline in decision-making; lead the analytics, pricing and reserving activities of the company; as well as contribute to strategic planning and performance measurement.
Saugata brings more than 15 years underwriting and actuarial management experience in the UK insurance and reinsurance market. He has led multinational project teams, and managed deals with Insurers/Reinsurers, managing general agents (MGAs) and Captives.
He joins from Munich Re, where his role was in structured financial solutions and new risks. Earlier, he was Europe Chief Underwriting & Actuarial Officer at the Warranty Group; and spent several years at GE Capital and later at Genworth Financial Europe in a number of capacities including Technical Director of Marketing Solutions, and Europe Underwriting & Pricing Leader.
