Access Control

Leeds showcase

The access product manufacturer TDSi and its distributor Midwich will be welcoming visitors to the Technology Showcase North event on Wednesday, April 13, at The Royal Armouries in Leeds. TDSi will be available to discuss integrating access control and physical security systems with other IT and business systems.

LeAnne Hill, Key Account Manager at TDSi said: “We are excited to be welcoming visitors to this most relevant venue to discuss the benefits of security and access control integration. We will be explaining to visitors the latest features of our security management software, EXgarde 4.5 – which features new integration with lock specialist ASSA ABLOY’s physical server protection systems and Milestone’s powerful video surveillance solutions.”

The partnership with Midwich has grown rapidly since the two businesses became partners over two years ago, according to TDSi, showing the growth and demand for integrated security and IT systems, the Poole-based firm claims.

LeAnne added: “This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the considerable advantages for end users and installers that are able to integrate physical security with wider IT systems. We develop solutions that ensure all these elements can work together and you can offer your clients the best solutions, which are cost effective as well as simple to install and operate. Myself and the team will be available at the event to discuss this in more detail.”

The integration between security systems and the wider IT function has never been closer, the firms say. Using CCTV and intruder alarms as part of the IT network makes it easier to get a true top-down view of any situation and gives the security operator greater muscle to take control. The firms point to more specific benefits; for instance access control can administer time and attendance recording. It can also ascertain the number of occupants in a facility, which is invaluable in the event of a fire or evacuation, ensuring everyone is safe and accounted for.

LeAnne added: “If you manage or install IT systems this is the perfect event for you. We will be showing you how integrated security is now at the heart of any complete IT solution and we will be available all day to offer advice and support on this exciting opportunity.” Visit www.tdsi.co.uk.
