Access Control

Market report

by Mark Rowe

According to Access Control, a new ‘Market Update’ by the market report company Key Note, new construction orders in the UK rose by 14.8 per cent in 2013.

New buildings are a main determinant for demand in the access control market. In 2013, the UK access control market grew by 2.9pc, according to the market researchers, after witnessing weak growth in the previous year. Audio and video entryphone systems are described as a low-cost solution for access control installers. Keypad access-control entry systems have been popular for the past few years, and the market is now fairly mature.

Key Note forecasts that the UK access control market will continue to grow over the next five years. The ongoing need for protection against crime and improvements in the construction sector will ensure a continued growth in demand for access control products.
