Business of the year award

GJD Manufacturing Ltd were among winners at the Rochdale Business Awards 2014 Annual Dinner, on November 7.

The awards were established in 2011 to celebrate the achievements of businesses and business people within the borough. Skylight Circus Arts gave this year’s event, at Rochdale Town Hall a big top feel while 30 firms were finalists in ten categories.

Rochdale council leader Richard Farnell told an audience of more than 350 in the Great Hall that Rochdale was ‘on the rise’ and congratulated the borough’s business leaders on their contribution. Heywood based, GJD Manufacturing Ltd, had been shortlisted in the Business of the Year category (turnover £1m to £5m) which was sponsored by Jackson Jackson & Sons Ltd. GJD took the first prize and won the award for Rochdale’s Business of Year 2014.

Mark Tibbenham, Managing Director at GJD Manufacturing, says: “We are absolutely delighted to win this prestigious award. It is a huge honour for me personally and such well deserved recognition to all the team at GJD for their continuous hard work and dedication to our company. We are very excited about the future and the forecast of growth for GJD and we certainly welcome the opportunity to create more jobs in the north west.”

About the firm

GJD Manufacturing Ltd designs, manufactures and supplies professional external wired and wireless detector equipment, CCTV and lighting controllers as well as IR and white light LED illuminators used in the intruder surveillance industry.
