DVR range

by Mark Rowe

VDT Direct, a developer of rapid deployment video alarms, has launched a range of DVRs.

Costing from £120, they can be generically integrated with the WebEye CMS cloud-based alarm monitoring. VDT say the products will meet the needs of smaller residential, retail and commercial users.

According to Clive Mason, Managing Director of VDT Direct: “These new DVRs will open up the market for low-cost video alarm systems by eliminating the need for expensive alarm transmitters to send intrusion alerts to remote locations. They provide users with a fast and reliable way to receive and view video clips using any internet-enabled computer, tablet or smartphone.”

Available in four, eight or 16 channel configurations, the new DVRs feature 4CIF recording in real time and support alarm functionality with video and motion detection. When alarm event recording is triggered, real-time alerts are sent to an unlimited number of users using a variety of methods, including push notifications ensuring notifications are received within 20 seconds. This eliminates the delays that can occur with email and SMS messages. A range of data is transmitted to users, including date, time and camera number, with images that are stitched together to provide a small video clip.

VDT Direct’s new DVRs incorporate a user interface and support VGA and BNC outputs with up to 724 x 576 recording resolution. Two SATA hard drive ports are included allowing up to 4TB local storage to be added if required.

“These new DVRs provide a cost effective way of deploying video alarm systems giving users a clearer picture of every activation and enabling them to take immediate and appropriate action,” added Clive Mason. “They will consolidate our reputation as the UK’s leading developer of innovative and cost effective video alarm solutions.”
