by Mark Rowe

Pro-Vision Distribution, the Shropshire-based distributor can now offer customers Vigitron’s Vi2216LT 16 port midspan.

The MaxiiPower model Vi2216LT is a 16 port PoE midspan that works with 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet networks.

Simon Davies, Internal Sales Manager for Pro-Vision said: “The Vi2216LT meets IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at standards and delivers up to 37 watts per port on all ports using power management and provide up to 74 watts with the Vi0015 adapter cable. It is fully manageable with an easy to use GUI that can be accessed via direct connection to the USB port. No IP setting or configurations are required and it is completely transparent to the Ethernet network and higher layer protocols. The unit is equipped with LEDs to indicate power status.

“The MaxiiPower midspans, which are 1U high, can be easily installed in 19-inch racks. They are ideal for a wide range of CCTV or IT applications which require high power – such as IP cameras, wireless access points or VoIP – and can easily be connected to a central LAN switching fabric.”

The technical data sheet of the Vi2216LT can be found on the Pro-Vision website – visit: www.provision-cctv.com.
