4k finalist

by Mark Rowe

Dahua Technology, the Chinese manufacturer and supplier of video surveillance products based in Hangzhou, announced that its 4K Ultra HD Network Motorized IR-bullet Camera was named finalist of PROTECTOR Award 2015.

PROTECTOR Awards for security technology are an annual contest by IGT publishing house in Germany. There are four entry categories in total and Dahua 4k camera is classified under “Video Surveillance”, with 30 finalists from other international security players.

Dahua 4K ultra HD Network IR-bullet IPC-HFW81200E-Z adopts 1/1.8-inch exmor sensor, providing image quality and low-light effect; its infra-red LEDs cover up to 50m, which helps to render clear images in dim or dark surroundings. The camera supports up to 30 frames per second at 8MP(3840×2160) real-time encoding, producing images of high definition, which plays a vital role in video surveillance, especially in applications such as safe city, parking lot, harbours, plazas and elsewhere demanding details capturing.

The device adopts 3.1-13mm motorized lens, which is enable to zoom and focus automatically at the very same time, and its speed and accuracy is superior to the similar products on the market, the makers claim. The camera provides functions such as ultra defog, RoI, and intelligent detections, including tripwire, intrusion, scene change, and missing/abandoned item.

Since the camera comes with the latest DSP, IPC-HFW81200E-Z consumes much less power, and its bitrate has been decreased to around 8Mbps thanks to high-efficiency compression encoding, which consumes much less power the firm says.

The 4K camera is also compact in design and easy in installation, it’s claimed — a single screw can fix the camera, thus saving time and cost in installation. The external SD card installation and video output are designed for the convenience during installation and maintenance.
