Ball PTZ camera

by Mark Rowe

Redvision, the UK manufacturer of CCTV cameras and housings, has launched the X2-COMBAT. It’s a rugged, ball PTZ camera, designed for outdoor surveillance applications.

The product has a die-cast aluminum body which is first anodised, then powder coated to make it resistant to vandalism and environmentally tough, the makers say. It has a silicon wiper as part of the standard build and options for, white-light and infra-red LED illumination. It includes a four-inch PCD mount with M8 holes to fit to towers and it comes with a range of cable managed mounts and brackets, which are first zinc plated and then powder coated for toughness.

As for performance, it has a 3MP, 30x zoom camera module with low-light capability. Four video streams for recording, visualisation, set-up and servicing; H265, H264 and MJPEG compression; optional 128GB SD card-based edge storage; ONVIF compliance to profile S, G and Q; 400 pre-sets, 12 tours, 12 scans, six tracks and eight privacy masks; and alarms, motion detection, intelligent analytics and tracking are all part of its specification.

Will Hucker, General Manager at Redvision, says: “The X2-COMBAT is the next generation of our market-leading X-Series. It is just as tough, with a seven-year MTBF [mean time between failures]. It brings new levels of performance, such as IR detection distances in DORI tests now exceeding 300m at night. A combination of careful design engineering and increased production volumes have improved productivity and helped us deliver a higher specification product at a lower price. Installation and routine servicing times have also benefited, saving our customers time on site.”

The camera and its mounts are available in light grey (RAL 7035) or black (RAL 9005) powder-coat paint as standard, or they can be ordered in any bespoke colour from the RAL range. Its operating temperature range is minus 40 degrees C to 60 degrees C. Visit redvisioncctv.com. For distributors in the Uk and abroad, visit https://www.redvisioncctv.com/distributors/.
