Basler board changes

The supervisory board of Basler AG reports changes in the management board. On January 1, 2014, the management board will be expanded from three members to four members and the allocation of management board departments will be adjusted.

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/ Chief Operations Officer (COO) Hardy Mehl (38, pictured) will move up in the management board and will lead the company with the chairman of the board, Dr. Dietmar Ley, and the management board members Arndt Bake and John Jennings. In the newly created department “Finance and Operations” Hardy Mehl will be responsible for the functions finance, controlling, SAP and IT, legal and patents, investor relations, as well as for facility management so far headed by the chairman of the board and also for production and supply-chain-management formerly headed by the chief operations officer.

From the beginning of the financial year 2014, current Chief Operations Officer, Arndt Bake, will change to the newly created department “Marketing”. In his new role as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) he will lead the strategic marketing and product management. As chief commercial officer (CCO) John Jennings will remain responsible for sales, market communication and the company’s subsidiaries. From January 1, 2014, the chairman of the management board (CEO), Dr. Dietmar Ley, will be responsible for research and development, organizational development and human resources.

Hardy Mehl has an university degree in business administration as well as a degree in business administration of the Hamburg Business Academy (Wirtschaftsakademie Hamburg) which he obtained in a dual study program of Deutsche BP AG, Hamburg. Presently, he is completing an executive MBA study program at the ESMT (European School of Management and Technology) in Berlin. Since joining Basler AG in the year 1999 he held various management positions within the company and is responsible for the product management, the business development and the steering of business.
