Covert CCTV at care homes?

by Mark Rowe

Covert CCTV to monitor care homes has been mooted by a watchdog.

This is part of a document launched by the new Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care, Andrea Sutcliffe, at the Care Quality Commission (CQC). It inspects and regulates care homes and other adult social care services. The document said: “We would also like to have an open conversation with people about the use of mystery shoppers and hidden cameras, and whether they would contribute to promoting a culture of safety and quality, while respecting people’s rights to privacy and dignity.
