Five star safety

by Mark Rowe

The British Safety Council has awarded Siemens Building Technologies a five star assessment, with an overall audited score of 98.43 per cent in its recent audit. Pictured is Siemens HQ, at Frimley.

In the letter accompanying its report, the BSC said that it was,”delighted to confirm that you attained a five star rating and have been recommended for continued BS OHSAS18001:2007 certification. This is an excellent achievement which clearly demonstrates your organisation’s commitment to health and safety.”

Siemens Building Technologies will be eligible to apply for the 2014 Sword of Honour award, which recognises the ‘best of the best’ in health and safety management. This was last awarded to the company in 2012.

The auditors praised management commitment to the health and safety management system, and the fact that all personnel spoken to had a clear understanding of their duties and responsibilities.

Interim Managing Director Meinrad Wagenschwanz said: “Congratulations are due to all Siemens Building Technologies employees on this fantastic result, for maintaining and demonstrating our commitment to placing Health and Safety at the heart of what we do.”
