ISC West show awards

by Mark Rowe

Hikvision, the Chinese CCTV and IP video product company, reports that its Ultra HD 4K Smart IR PTZ camera received a New Product Showcase award at the annual ISC West show, from the US trade body the Security Industry Association (SIA), in the category of Video Surveillance Cameras HD (Megapixel).

Since 1979, the ‘New Product Showcase’ has covered products in the security industry, presented at the ISC West trade show in Las Vegas.

Hikvision’s winning entry, the Ultra HD 4K Smart IR PTZ (DS-2DF8836IV-AELW) provides Ultra HD 4K image detail in real time (30 frames per second), wide dynamic range (WDR), 36x optical zoom lens, IP66 and IK10 protection ratings, and an infra-red range of 650 feet. Video content analysis, ‘Region of Interest’ (ROI) encoding, and Smart Tracking allow for more efficient video surveillance, the makers say.

SIA CEO Don Erickson said: “Video surveillance categories are always very competitive at SIA’s New Product Showcase, particularly as video surveillance is such a large and significant part of the security industry. As such, Hikvision’s achievement in winning the Video Surveillance Cameras HD (Megapixel) Award at ISC West 2016 is a tremendous accomplishment. I congratulate Hikvision on their award and their impressive camera.”

And Hikvision USA and Hikvision Canada president Jeffrey He said: “This camera represents some of the finest work of Hikvision’s R&D team and demonstrates our ability to provide the high performing, innovative technology that is required for enterprise-level projects. The need for such products is great, and as Hikvision continues to grow in North America, and we rise to meet the requirements of the enterprise market.”

Separately, Hikvision was presented with the Milestone Award, on April 5 at The Advance, an annual membership meeting and networking opportunity during ISC West. That was to mark the company’s contributions to the security industry as a five-year member of SIA. Jeffrey He said: “SIA has been instrumental in the success of the security industry in North America, and it has been an honor for Hikvision to serve as a member for these past five years. The incredible growth that Hikvision has experienced in the United States and Canada is due in part to our strong partnerships with industry associations, allowing us to be an active participant in the future of security.”
