Mini-dome, bullet IP cameras

by Mark Rowe

Tyco Security Products introduces the new Illustra Essentials mini-dome and bullet IP cameras, to provide a high definition video.

Available in 2 megapixel outdoor mini-dome, pictured; and bullet varifocal models, the new Illustra Essentials IP cameras offer users a wider field of view. These cameras utilise a 2.8-12mm varifocal lens. Beyond the field of view, the Illustra Essentials varifocal cameras have true day/night IR illumination to capture high quality video in low light situations. While producing exceptional low light color video, Illustra Essentials also features noise reduction and reduced storage costs with highly efficient bandwidth usage.

The varifocals provide wide dynamic range to simultaneously view high contrast areas. Suitable the makers say for changing lighting conditions, the Illustra Essentials cameras are for outdoor regions with very bright and dark areas. Also, these cameras feature H.264 and MJPEG dual-stream encoding and a maximum 30 images per second. The mini-dome cameras come with durable enclosures with an IK10 rating to protect against vandalism.

Stuart Bettle, Video Product Marketing Manager, EMEA, Tyco Security Products, said: “We are pleased to continue to add to the Illustra Essentials IP camera portfolio, giving our customers more options for high quality, yet truly affordable cameras. With the addition of the new varifocals cameras, Illustra cameras offer an ideal solution with the goals of optimal performance and easy installation in mind.”

The varifocals cameras are compatible with American Dynamics VideoEdge and exacqVision video management system (VMS) software and recorders, as well as the Holis recording platform; visit www.illustracameras.com.
