Samsung choose Midwich

by Mark Rowe

Midwich and Samsung have reinforced their working relationship as the two aim to drive the IP and AV convergence message.

Samsung have chosen specialist distributor Midwich to promote their latest security technology, but also to promote the crossover of markets that this latest technology brings.

Among the latest developments from Samsung is their WiseNet III processor installed into their latest network cameras. Offering smart compression and multi-crop streaming of 60 frames per second, the WiseNet III allows evidence grade images to be captured the firms say.

Samsung’s range of security products cover all areas, from standalone systems for the transport sector to intelligent video analytics to monitor customer footfall and buying patterns in retail.

Mark Thomas, Director of Midwich Security, said: “We are continually seeing different technologies working in synergy and Samsung lead the way in developing security technology that can be utilised in a wide range of applications, such as monitoring footfall in museums or face recognition at nightspots. We have enjoyed a healthy and mutually beneficial relationship with Samsung for a number of years. Samsung have now made it clear of their intentions to actively drive their security products in the UK via Midwich and, obviously, we are delighted to be able to honour their intentions.”

Gary Rowden, pictured, European Sales and Marketing Director for Samsung Techwin said: “Demand for security across the board is becoming more widespread in a range of markets and this, along with the latest leading technology offered from Samsung, makes this a very exciting time for us. The excellent knowledge and logistics available at Midwich gives us an ideal business partner and we look forward to continued success with their established security division.
