This year at the IFSEC show Thinking Space were showcasing their new Plug and Play desk. The Hampshire firm says that the desk has been devised to provide a turnkey solution allowing installation and minimal electrical work on site. The desks are fitted with all the electrical and data services required to supply the hardware to be fitted on and in the furniture.
The electrical and data points are installed within compartment trunking within the void at the rear of the desks. As part of the design process, the power and communications requirements are agreed and detailed upon the technical drawings. All the wiring is fitted within the trunking during manufacturing, ready to be certified once installed on site. An isolator switch is fitted within the console as a point to disconnect the desk from the client’s main circuit when required.
The power and data trunking is accessible in the rear of the desk. As all Thinking Space consoles are built without bulkheads, the cable management void runs throughout the length of all builds allowing maintenance and good airflow throughout.
