Africa moves

by Mark Rowe

At Hochiki Europe, the manufacturer of life safety products, Martyn Hanks, pictured, has joined to lead sales across Africa. Pointing to the economic growth especially in Rwanda, Tanzania and Mozambique, the Hochiki Europe expansion sees increasing importance of that market to the fire and safety systems industry.

Hochiki Europe has also created an online portal specifically for the African market covering local protocols, standards and experience.

Graham Lowe, Sales Director, at Hochiki Europe, said: “With growing importance being placed on life safety systems across many countries in Africa and the reliance on Europe and America to support with initial standards, Hochiki Europe saw to bolster its 20 year commitment to the continent. Martyn has extensive experience working in the sub-Saharan region and will be perfectly placed to support the requirements of the market as it continues to develop. ”

The firm adds that Martyn has already formed good working relationships with Hochiki’s existing customers in Africa, helping to secure contracts on a number of refurbishments and new builds in the region. Visit: www.hochikieurope.com/africa.
