ACS rating hailed

by Mark Rowe

A guarding company and member of the Security Industry Authority’s Approved Contractor Scheme has hailed its latest ACS performance standard.

Octavian Security’s rating of 125 points is a rise on its score of 94 in 2011 – which already placed it ahead of the majority of other UK contractors – with the company now ranking among the top five per cent of security providers in the country for 2012-13.

The external auditor was particularly impressed by the company’s annual and monthly employee awards, which boost staff productivity and morale, as well as its internal newsletters to make sure that all employees are kept updated and involved in the progress of the business. Octavian owner and group CEO Sukhi Ghuman said: “Octavian Security has always stood for good practice and the very highest standards in the security industry. We have continually improved our extensive training schemes and business practices to achieve this, and our new ACS rating is testament to this.”

Tony Mellor, Commercial Director at Octavian Security, said: “After an intensive three day re-verification assessment, our clients will be delighted about our new improved rating. It gives them complete confidence in our service delivery.

“Our ranking in the top 5pc reflects the hard work and dedication of everyone in the business, both employees on client sites and those at head office. It is an amazing achievement for us all, and we are very thankful for the hard work that everyone at Octavian has put in over the past 12 months.”
