BP control room contract

by Mark Rowe

Wilson James has been appointed by BP to deliver emergency response control room services across the oil firm’s North Sea Business. The guarding contractor says this builds on and extends the existing core manned guarding and reception service provision.

The security firm says this appointment now takes it into the delivery of emergency response room operations and will support BP’s initial response to crisis, continuity and emergency response related incidents.

Keith Fleming, Director Scotland at Wilson James said: “The contract expansion enables Wilson James to take an integrated approach to the provision of security and emergency response arrangements within the environs of BP’s onshore assets and associated portfolio’s within the North Sea. We can utilise our experience and understanding of their business from working with them across Scotland and beyond to ensure consistency and continuity, contributing to BP’s business resilience.”

And Wilson James’ Managing Director for Security Services Gemma Quirke added: “Services such as the provision of emergency response control room operatives are crucial in ensuring effective response arrangements are in place for any eventualities that may occur in today’s environment. We are delighted to be assisting BP in these arrangements and it demonstrates the service expertise we can deliver across a range of service sectors.”
