Management software

CBS Security & Remote Monitoring has a new employee scheduling and workforce management product. The company will use SmartTask across a team of 80 manned guards, at 30 industrial and commercial sites to streamline operational processes, for service delivery and lone worker protection.

CBS will replace a workforce management system that the firm says was no longer meeting needs and had become costly and time consuming to operate. SmartTask will now be employed to manage time and attendance, rostering and scheduling, and live monitoring. The company is also exploring how SmartTask-enabled smartphone can be used as an alternative to its current tour management system.

SmartTask’s call taking software will capture and record working hours, with guards calling from an approved telephone and inputting their PIN number at the start and end of each shift. Hourly check calls will also enable CBS to confirm the welfare of remotely-based staff from a 24/7 control room based at the company’s head office in Coleshill, Warwickshire. A live view interactive dashboard will provide a real-time overview of any issues such as late arrivals or missed check calls, so CBS can respond to see that compliance is achieved and customer satisfaction maintained.

The roster engine will also allow CBS to create weekly work schedules, based on known availability and preferred working hours, with designated shifts emailed to guards at a click of a button. Meanwhile, exportable time and attendance reports will be integrated with CBS’ accounting software to provide payroll and billing data. This will help the company to calculate customer invoices and verify timesheets based on actual hours worked.

Neill Pow, Operations Director at CBS said: “We selected SmartTask because it offers a highly-functional solution that is cost effective, reliable and easy-to-use. We also found the support provided by the team at SmartTask to be second to none, always responsive to our needs and listening to any feedback. The software is already improving visibility and control, meaning we can raise service levels and support duty of care to staff.”

And Paul Ridden, CEO of SmartTask said: “Our employee scheduling and workforce management software is being selected by an increasing number of security businesses. It has become the solution of choice within the marketplace based on its ability to deliver proven operational improvements and efficiencies, while simplifying administrative and reporting processes.”
