OEM agreement

by Mark Rowe

BCDVideo, the US-based, purpose-built IP video storage product company, has signed an Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) agreement with data storage and server product company Dell EMC OEM Solutions. This means BCDVideo offers end-to-end solutions featuring Dell EMC Server, Storage and Networking platforms, along with Dell commercial client products.

Ron Pugh, vice president and general manager for the Americas, Dell EMC OEM Solutions, said: โ€œSecurity integrators and their customers are looking for end-to-end solutions that feature integrated technologies throughout the IT stack. Both Dell and BCDVideo have each made significant investments that line up extremely well to take on the tremendous opportunities in the IP video security market. Weโ€™re excited about collaborating with BCDVideo in delivering these security solutions.โ€

According to the market analysis firm IHS Markit, the global enterprise and IP storage market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24.2pc between 2016 and 2021, however, the need for high-capacity storage for high-resolution images has been a restraint in the overall market growth. With the declining cost of IP cameras enabling end-users to shift from traditional analogue to IP-based systems, security integrator demand for video storage has never been greater, the firms say.

Jeff Burgess, CEO of BCDVideo said: โ€œOur vision is to provide security integrators around the world access to the state-of-the-art IP video recording and storage solutions they demand. This new collaboration with Dell EMC intensifies our product portfolio.โ€

As the global enterprise and IP storage market continues to grow, the firms say the new OEM agreement will provide security integrators the storage they need while offering service and support for BCDVideo’s IP video storage.
