Italian city monitoring

by Mark Rowe

Dahua Technology, the Chinese manufacturer of video surveillance products based in Hangzhou, with Videotrend provided a video surveillance monitoring system for the Italian city of Arezzo.

Arezzo is capital of the province with the same name, in Tuscany. An IP system featured network cameras that featured a 2-Megapixel progressive scan Exmor CMOS sensor, providing images at 25/30fps at 1080P. It supports H.264 and MJPEG dual codec and smart detection. With 30m infra-red (IR) range, the camera performs well in all lighting conditions, day and night.

ITC series cameras with what the makers term a highly efficient algorithm to provide intelligent surveillance for roads, streets and venues to monitor traffic (pictured). With its HD Image Resolution function and the speed shutter at 1/25~1/100000, these devices can capture images of vehicles and recognise license plates, even when they drive fast, it’s claimed. These intelligent devices have integrated Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and can be used for red light traffic enforcement.

Dahua Super NVR6000DR series NVRs with up to 128 channel capacity and front LCD display were used. This model has redundant power supply modules and supports multi-brand network cameras, including Dahua, Arecont Vision, AXIS, Bosch, Brickcom, Canon, CP Plus, Dynacolor, Honeywell and Panasonic. As for data protection, the product supports RAID0/1/5/6/10/50/60.

Elmer Zhang, Sales Director of Europe at Dahua Technology, said: “Dahua offers intelligent security solutions that enable a smarter, safer Arezzo. The excellent qualities of the images obtained even in extreme light conditions enable uninterrupted monitoring of areas at risk, and therefore, Dahua has realized its goal of protection for local residents and tourists in Arezzo.”
